⛸️ January: Ice Skate at the Sculpture Garden, DC Glide around DC’s most iconic outdoor rink surrounded by art and National Mall views.
🇺🇸 February: Visit the Presidents Heads, Williamsburg, VA Explore one of America’s most unique attractions—only offered during special ticketed guided tours.
🪨 March: Explore @luraycaverns, VA Walk through the largest caverns in the eastern U.S., filled with otherworldly rock formations.
🌷 April: pick your own tulips at the Festival of Spring, VA Stroll through millions of blooming tulips and daffodils at @burnsidefarms—it’s like Holland in Virginia.
🌍 May: Experience Passport DC Tour embassies, enjoy cultural events, and travel the world without leaving the city.

Looking for things to do in & around the DMV this year? Here’s Part 1 of experiences to try by month I’m adding to my 2026 bucket list—mostly DC, MD, and VA, with a few worth the drive a bit further out. 👀
(Another 12 experiences are coming in Part 2—stay tuned!)

✨ January: Experience Time by Luxmuralis, @wncathedral (DC) Step inside a breathtaking light + sound show that transforms the Cathedral into a glowing work of art.

♨️ February: Soak in the Roman Baths, Berkeley Springs, WV Relax in historic mineral waters at this iconic spa town just a few hours away.

🌸 March: Celebrate the @cherryblossfest, DC Welcome spring with peak blooms, citywide events, and iconic waterfront views.

⚾ April: Catch a @nationals Game, DC Cheer on the Nats with Racing Presidents, ballpark snacks, and spring nights at the stadium.

🥾 May: Hike Old Rag Mountain, @shenandoahnps  Take on a challenging rock scramble and earn sweeping 360° summit views.

🎶 June: Listen to Jazz in the @ngadc Sculpture Garden, DC Enjoy free outdoor concerts in one of DC’s prettiest summer settings—tickets go fast.

🎆 July: Watch Fourth of July Fireworks on the @nationalmallnps, DC Celebrate Independence Day and @america250 with an unforgettable fireworks display in the nation’s capital.

🛟 August: Tube the Potomac River, Harpers Ferry, WV Float, relax, and cool off while the river does all the work.

🏰 September: Step back in time at the Maryland Renaissance Festival Feast on turkey legs, watch jousting, and embrace peak fall chaos—in the best way.

🏕️ October: Go Camping or Glamping (DMV + beyond) Chase fall foliage and cozy nights under the stars—or upgrade to glamping.

🫖 November: Enjoy Afternoon Tea, Washington, DC Slow down with a cozy, elegant tea experience as temperatures drop.

⛸️ Gliding through winter… inside one of DC’s most iconic buildings ❄️

The Winter Skate Spectacular at the @nationalbuildingmuseum transforms the jaw-dropping Great Hall into an indoor skating destination. It may not be real ice (the rink is synthetic), but that just means you can skate without braving the freezing temps — a win in my book.

Your ticket includes a skating session plus access to select museum exhibitions, so you can wander the halls, admire the architecture, and make a whole afternoon or evening of it. Come during the day for a classic skate or at night for DJ-powered after-hours sessions that are perfect for photos and date nights.

🗓 Open through February 9
⏰ Daytime skating: Thurs–Mon, 12–5 pm (45-minute sessions)
🌙 After-hours skating: Thurs & Fri, 6–8 pm (2-hour sessions)
🎟 Tickets: $20 adults / $17 youth & seniors (skate rental included)

✈️ From new destinations and once-in-a-lifetime moments (like experiencing Groundhog Day IRL) to big personal milestones, this year reminded me just how special every single day can be.

To you, thank you for being here, cheering me on, and following along whether you found me yesterday or have been here for years. This community means more to me than you know. As I close out this chapter of 2025, I’m stepping into the next one full of gratitude, excitement, and so much hope for what’s still ahead.
